Coffee & Tea

At Eurocan our global reputation is built on our knowledge and technical expertise in the field of can seaming. The process of filling and seaming coffee and tea tins is complex and the quality of your product and your company’s financial future depend on getting this important process right.

We understand the central importance of canning and its role in protecting your coffee beans, ground coffee or leaf tea from air, light and moisture – the three principal agents of flavour degradation. Hermetically sealing them in a tinplate or paperboard can protects the tea and coffee and ensures that it retains flavour and freshness.

Oxygen can pose a significant threat to the flavour and freshness if it is not removed before the can seaming process is complete.

An effective method for oxygen removal is to seam the can whilst it is under vacuum. Our INOX V can seamers are equipped with a mechanical vacuum system that removes oxygen from the can and double seams the end on while still under vacuum pressure. The INOX V models enable the operators to adjust the vacuum pressure and achieve guaranteed performance levels of less than 2% residual oxygen (RO).

A blend of vacuum seaming and gassing can also be used to obtain the best possible modified atmosphere within the can and will offer RO levels below 1%. The INOX VG can closers achieve this by first removing oxygen from the can, before back flushing it with nitrogen and then double seaming the can hermetically. For applications that demand the lowest possible RO values below 0.5%, our can closers will repeat this process of vacuum and gassing.

Both the INOX V and VG model seamers incorporate our unique ‘end hold off’ system that guarantees effective gas flushing using standard can ends, thereby removing the need to use the traditional ‘dimpled’ ends in order to ensure an effective nitrogen flow into the can.

Customers around the world have seen for themselves how our INOX can seamers ensure that the vital process of vacuum seaming runs smoothly and efficiently. Each one of these machines is the product of our expertise and our understanding of filling and closing tea and coffee tins, and the vital role it plays in the production and sale of your products. How to Store Coffee – National Coffee Association of U.S.A., Inc.

Your beans’ greatest enemies are air, moisture, heat, and light. To preserve your beans’ fresh roasted flavor as long as possible, store them in an opaque, air-tight container at room temperature. Coffee beans can be beautiful, but avoid clear canisters which will allow light to compromise the taste of your coffee.
